You are hereby notified that on the 25th day of September 2024, a petition was filed in said court by Kristina Dillon, as an heir of Kenneth Matthew Dillon, deceased, praying for the appointment of Kristina Dillon as Administrator of the estate of Kenneth Matthew Dillon and you are hereby required to file your written defenses thereto on or before the 28 day of October, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. of said day, in said court, in the city of Lyons, Rice County, Kansas, at which time and place said cause will be heard.  Should you fail therein, judgment and decree will be entered in due course upon said petition.

Public Notice

Rice County Council on Aging is submitting an application for capital and operating assistance for transportation under the U.S.C. 5311 (rural public transportation) of the Federal Transit Act. The application will be for capital funds to replace a vehicle to our current fleet and for operating funds to help provide transportation services in the area. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

BIG BEND GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT NO. 5 

All eligible voters in the BIG BEND GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT NO. 5 with boundaries in portions of Barton, Edwards, Kiowa, Pawnee, Pratt, Reno, Rice, and Stafford Counties, Kansas, and all other interested persons.

You are hereby notified that on the 21st day of November 2024, at 9:00 a.m., in the conference room of the Big Bend Groundwater Management District No. 5, 125 S Main, Stafford, Stafford County, Kansas, a public meeting will be held for the purpose of gathering input and suggestions as the District is reviewing its overall management program per K.S.A. 82a-1029. Comments received in advance of the public meeting will be maintained for the record and presented in the public meeting.

Following the discussion, the District Board of Directors shall, by formal action, either reaffirm the existing management program or revise the management program in accordance with K.S.A. 82a-1029.

EXTENSION COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with K.S.A. 2-611, as amended, State of Kansas, that on, November 4, 2024 at Rice County Extension Building, beginning at 6:00 p.m., the members of the Rice County Extension Council shall meet for the purpose of: (1) electing from among their members an Executive Board consisting of a chairperson, a vice chairperson, a secretary, a treasurer and five additional members; (2) organizing the Program Development committees for Agricultural and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development, and Community Vitality initiatives; (3) consideration of the County Extension Education Program.

All County Extension Council representatives of Agricultural and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development and Community Vitality initiatives are urged to attend.
