RESOLUTION  11-2026

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS OF THE
BUSHTON RECREATION
DISTRICT BOARD

WITNESSETH:

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners established the Bushton Recreation District by Charter Resolution No. 1-25 on July 14, 2025; and 

WHEREAS, the Charter Resolution was published two times in the official Rice County newspaper; and 

WHEREAS, no protest petition was filed, and the Recreation District came into effect; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners appoints the individuals named herein as the members of the Bushton Recreation District and set the terms therefore.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners as follows:

1) The following individuals are
named as the initial members
of the Bushton Recreation
District Board to-wit:

a. Ryan Habiger – 

    Farmer Township

b. Jerry Folk – 

    City of Bushton

c. Michael Habiger – 

    Eureka Township

2) Should a vacancy occur in the
Board then a new board mem-
ber shall be nominated by the
governing body of the munici-
pality in which the vacancy oc-
curs to the Board of County
Commissioners, who shall ap-
point the new board member
to the unexpired term. 

3) The members of the Bushton
Recreation District Board
shall serve the terms and
have the duties, powers, and
authorities as set forth in the
authorizing Charter Resolu-
tion No. 1-25.

4) This Resolution shall be ef-
fective upon its adoption by
the Board of County Commis-
sioners and publication in the
official County newspaper.  

PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the Board of Commissioners, Rice County, Kansas, this  20th day of April, 2026.
